Paulina Freifeld (b. 1998) is a director and painter based in New York City. Raised between Mexico City and California, she graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Her work—defined by a surrealist, handmade aesthetic and darkly whimsical narratives—moves fluidly between painting and film. Freifeld’s most acclaimed exhibitions include Peso del Peligro (2025) at Concordia Studio in Mexico City, Summer School (2024) at Colbo in New York, and How Sun Smells (2023) at Will Shott Gallery. Her solo presentations have garnered critical recognition in Vogue México, Forbes, and Impulse, positioning her as one of the standout voices of Mexico City Art Week 2025. She has also participated in group shows at institutions and galleries such as NADA, David Zwirner and the ICA Miami.
