Chad Murray (b. 1985) is a Canadian painter currently based in Los
Angeles, California. His traditionalist approach to oil painting sits squarely between the timeless and the contemporary. Through their precise detail and compositions that verge on abstraction, Murray’s paintings place the viewer at the intersection of the sublime power of nature paired with the alchemic power of paint to transform a flat surface. Murray has recently had solo presentations at Sebastian Gladstone, Kings Leap, and the Armory Fair.
